This is a special guy - hand-thrown, then dipped in an ash glaze made from woodburner ash collected from my neighbourhood. Woodfired for 50 hours in the large anagama at Oxford Kilns in Wytham Wood.
Things go crazy at 1350 degrees in the anagama, and this guy has a small oval of white clay on one side that was deposited there by another piece leaning over and briefly sticking during the firing. Woodfiring is a special magic!
